I find this really funny.  I read an article about a band called "Shining" on a website, so I go to download an album by that group...

Of course I didn't know that there is a Swedish black metal band also called "Shining"...

Notes from the front...

Let's see, the other day I said I was going to update the next day - didn't do that...

But, here you go:

So, you all know that some colleagues and I started a business in November - the Online Business Institute (click here if you're curious).  Well, things have been going rather slowly with that venture.  Granted, we've been working a lot of different marketing angles - doing trade shows, covering the internet, breaking into the local market, but nothing is really driving the kind of business that we were hoping.  Does that mean we're done?  No, still plugging along.  However, the downside is that since things haven't really picked up, that I had to re-enter the working world.  Back to the grind, so to speak...

Fortunately,  I found something - I'll be working the call center scene doing customer service yet again.  Yeah, big bucks.  Well, enough bucks to pay my bills.  Work starts on Monday, and my stint as a phone jockey begins again.  Hopefully this wont be a long-term thing.  There is another project that has come up that my be able to give me the financial stability I need to be able to start working on OBI full time again.  But until that happens, I'm a wage slave once again...

That's the important stuff.  In other un-important news, if you haven't seen "Sin City" yet, get off yer butts and go.  Also, "Kung Fu Hustle" is getting ready to drop a bomb on your collective asses, so when it opens on Friday, show some love and check it out.  Have I seen it yet?  No, but I did see Stephen Chow's (the director) previous film on a recommendation from my uncle.  The film is "Shaolin Soccer" and it was easily one of the funniest, most bizzare films I've seen in a while.  Who wouldn't like soccer playing Shaolin monks?..

TV is full of fun stuff - the world definetly needs THIS

Also seen on TV, apparently there was a void in reality TV programming.  This void left open by American Idol only focusing on making the next POP star, was filled by "Nashville Idol" - which I'm pretty sure you can figure out what the point is.  However, I'm not really sure what gave the producers the idea that Bret Michaels from Poison would be a great canidate for a judge.  I'm more of a country music authority that he is...

So, yeah.  That's life.  At least for right now...

St. Guinness

It's St. Patrick's Day suckas!!!  Raise up your pints!!  If you want....

I'm a big fan of St. Pats.  Not because I'm Irish or anything, but because you get good food on St. Pats. - bring on the corned beef and cabbage.  Which, by the way, my girlfriend made for me last night and it rocked my lame ass.  Yet another instance of celebrating holidays for entirely the wrong reason...

But it's a good excuse to have a Guinness or 3...

So the new Star Wars trailer is out.  Yeah.  Damn you Lucas, I really didn't want to be excited, I was totally prepared for extreme dissapointment, but then you had to go and release THIS...

Will I be there opening day?  Definetly.  Will I get all giddy like a child?  Possibly.  Will I be totally devastaed when it doesn't live up to my very high expectations?  Not really, since I'm prepared for it this time.  I was totally blindsided for Ep1, and a little less so for Ep2, but I'm ready this time...

In other Star Wars related news, I was at the casino last night, and noticed the Star Wars slot machine.  Like I need to give George Lucas any more money.  I've already bought the trilogy 5 times...

"The Incredibles" came out on Tuesday.  Rent it, buy it, LOVE IT.  It's an Oscar winner, so you know it's good...

And, if you haven't seen any of the "Sin City" trailers yet, you need to be in the know.  GO HERE...

It should be fun summer for movies.  We get Batman, The Fantastic Four, Tim Burton's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, etc...

Long Weeks

Hello...

Well, I'm glad that I'm able to continue the standard of excellence that I set for myself at the beginning of the year...

Been a long couple of weeks.  Yeah, I'm still not working (I'm working from home).  For the business, we had booths at 2 trade shows last week.  One at the Nevada Women's Expo, and the other at the Small Business Expo in Gold Beach, OR.  Great times - actually, I think they went over really well.  We got some good exposure for the business that we wouldn't have through our regular marketing efforts.  But I'll say this, it was exhausting.  Ever worked a trade show?  On your feet for 8 hours a day, shaking hands and wearing the "face" for all to see.  For just standing there, it's pretty tiring.  The Gold Beach one wasn't too bad, we got some sitting in.  Plus, it was my first business trip!  Life on the road, in and out of hotels, all that crap - good times...

No real other news, my efforts have been mainly focused on getting things ready to go for last week.  Now I'm home, and I can just put my brain back together before the week starts up again...

Gotta love it...
